Our Story: A Family Tradition in Bridal Alterations
At Nabil Alterations, tailoring isn’t just a profession—it’s a passion that has been part of our family’s story for generations. With over 60 years of experience, I’ve dedicated my life to helping people look and feel their best, especially brides on their most important day. My journey began in Egypt in the 1980s, where I grew up surrounded by the art of sewing and alterations. By the time I was just 10 years old, I was learning the craft from my family and working alongside skilled tailors. One of my greatest teachers was a remarkable man who was deaf. He taught me the precision, patience, and dedication that tailoring requires—a lesson I carry with me to this day.

In the early 1980s, I took a leap of faith and moved to the United States, settling first in New Jersey. I started small, cleaning dishes while pursuing my dream of building a life rooted in tailoring. Eventually, I made my way to North Carolina—the heart of America’s textile industry—where I found opportunities to grow my skills and expertise in alterations.
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with some of the most well-known retailers, including Dillard’s, Belk, Polly’s, and Carolina Bridal World. Today, we are especially proud to have a trusted partnership with Carolina Bridal World, where brides entrust us with perfecting their dream dresses. There’s no greater joy than seeing a bride beam with confidence when her dress fits her perfectly.
At Nabil Alterations, we understand that every wedding dress tells a story—and so does every bride. We bring decades of experience, attention to detail, and the personal touch of a family-owned business to every gown we work on. Whether it’s resizing, hemming, adding custom touches, or restoring a vintage piece, we treat every dress as if it were for someone in our own family.
